CIF’s Achievements

  • Encouragements from Dr.V.Shanta & Dr.Ravi Kannan influenced individuals in US to start the Cancer Institute Foundation as a non profit organization in Sept 2004.


  • In 2005 & 2006, CIF raised $20,000 and donated to Cancer Institute, Adyar, India to buy Anti Cancer drugs.


  • In 2007, CIF raised $200,000, helping the Institute to buy GE's state of the art Digital Radiography Machine. It is saving lives today by providing crisp images and helping to detect cancers early.


  • In 2008, CIF has acquired pledges for $225,000 to support Cancer Prevention, Detection & Education programs.


  • In 2009, CIF Donated $52,000 towards our 2 mobile clinics to promote prevention & early detection of Cancer and also donated 10,000$ worth of Anti cancer drugs.


  • In 2010, CIF Donated $9,000 to treat 10 children including diagnosis, treatments and follow up. Supported prevention program and donated $151,000 to buy $430,000 GE State of the art Digital Mammogram to treat breast cancer.


  • In 2011, CIF donated funds to treat 33 stage-1 Breast Cancer patients. CIF contributed 160,000$ towards MicroSelectron Digital Afterloader, which provides efficient radiological treatment of localized Cancer.



    • As one of our latest programs to spread word and create awareness of cancer. The Institute is organizing mobile clinic workshops and testing of various cancers in villages. This is a prevention and education programs and is 100% funded by CIF.
