Cancer Institute Foundation held a fundraising dinner with Dr. V. Shanta, Chaiperson of Adyar Cancer Institute. This was also to celebrate the lifetime achievement of Dr. Shanta. She has received many accolades including Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, and Ramon Magsaysay Award. The evening entertainment Indian classical Carnatic vocal music was provided by Bay Area talents Kavitha Nagarajan and Mux Narasimhan. The dinner was held at Cypress Hotel, Cupertino, CA.

Cancer Institute Foundation held another mega fundraising event by popular Bay Area Tamil light music group Thillana. The event was titled Swasame. Dr. V. Shanta attended the event in person as the chief guest. The event was emceed by popular Tamil movie comedian actor Vivek.

Cancer Institute Foundation held a fundraiser play in English by popular Bay Area group Krea Creations. The play was titled Seeds & Flowers. It was held at Jackson Auditorium, Ohlone College, Fremont, CA on April, 2007.
