Cancer Institute Foundation in partnership with Bay Area Tamil Manram conducted another successful fundraiser event – Tamil light music show Saaral. The event featured the band VDAZE of Bay Area’s talented musicians. We had two star singers – playback singer Roshini and Super Singer Ravi Gopinath also participate and enthrall the crowd. The event was conducted as a tribute to Tamil cinema trinity – music director “mellisai mannan” M.S. Viswanathan, director “iyakkunar thilakam” K. Balachandar and “Padma Shri” kavignar Vaali.[add slide show]
Kitchen Khiladi audition round was held on October 3, 2015 at Sunnyvale Temple auditorium with a huge turnout. 56 teams competed in the audition round and presented different interesting recipes with Turnip as the main ingredient. Based on the judges score and the audience score top 8 teams were selected for the finals. On October 18, 2015 finals round was conducted at Young Chef’s Academy, Sunnyvale, CA.

Cancer Institute Foundation participated in the annual Sevathon event conducuted by India Community Center. Supporters and volunteers of CIF ran, jogged and walked with friends and family. They participated in 5K, 10K and half marathon events.
CIF thanks all those who participated in the event to bring cancer awareness and raise funds.
Cancer Institute Foundation hosted a fundraising Tamil comedy play by Sacramento based Adade Creations. It is a full length comedy play starring local
CIF also released the book “adayaril innOr aalamaram“. In English it means “another banyan tree in Adyar”. The project took about 18 months to complete. The book motivates the reader to understand the accomplishments of the Cancer Institute, Chennai.
The book was released by Padmasri Dr. George Hart, Professor Emeritus of Tamil, University of Berkeley. The book was received by Dr. M. Shamala, Family Medicine, Dr. Sujatha Narayanan, Department of Oncology, Stanford University, Mr. K. Sridharan & Jayanthi Sridharan, Sankara Eye Foundation, and Mr. C.K. Youth Group of Indian Association of New Hampshire (IANH) conducted a fundraising evening of dance “Nach Night” featuring DJ Hevin. IANH youth group is a non-profit community service group run by high school students based in New Hampshire. Each year, they host cultural events which allow kids in the community to cultivate and showcase talents in dance and music. As a youth group, helping other local organization is equally important; each year, they raise money and items to support the local and other non-profit charities.
