CIF hosted its annual fundraiser Saaral, Tamil light music event. Due to Covid pandemic the show was conducted as an online event. The event was co-hosted by Bharati Tamil Sangam. The songs were performed by the talented Bay Area muscians of the band VDAZE.

The theme of the show was to celebrate the super hit songs from multi-talented Gangai Amaren movies. The songs were hand picked by Gangai Amaren himself from the pictures that he either directed, did music composing, or wrote the lyrics.

Thiru Gangai Amaren joined the show online from his home in Chennai and entertained the audience with anectodes related to each song and walked us down the memory lanes.

The show was viewed all around the globe and brought huge awareness to the Cancer Screening Centers that Dr. Shanta wants to build in each district of Tamil Nadu.

CIF joined as community partner with Bharati Tamil Sangam to bring an online performance by Isaikkavi Ramanan. Bharati Tamil Sangam promoted this event as a fundraiser for CIF. Isaikkavi Ramanan enthralled the audience by recalling old Tamil movie songs and how the lyrics carried important advice to succeed in life. He also sang many of the popular hits. He also took on audience request and sang a few hits impromptu.

We thank Bharati Tamil Sangam for providing us with this opportunity. We also thank all our donors, sponsors, patrons, volunteers and their family for their support in these trying times of Covid pandemic.

Following the tradition CIF started the new year by distributing free coffee to the devotees of Sunnyvale Hindu Temple.

After a nice darshan devotees stopped by the booth and had a hot cup of coffee. We distributed coffee to nearly 4,000 devotees. We thank them for stopping by and saying hello to our dedicated volunteers. Some of them also made a donation for our cause. Our heartfelt appreciation to them.
