Boston chapter of Cancer Institute Foundation presented Geethanjali, a tribute to Late Smt. Geetha Murali.

Audience enjoyed an evening of divine music. Vocal and instrumental music segment was performed by local music teachers and the finale will be performed by Smt. Rasika Murali.

Boston chapter of Cancer Institute Foundation staged a successful show Sangam, Indian classical music & dance program.

The event included veena recital by Smt. Durga Krishnan and her students from New England School of Music accompanied by Sri. Pravin Sitaram in Mridangam and Sri. Rajesh Pai in Tabla. The event also included classical vocal by Smt. Aparna Balaji and her students from Abhyaas accompanied by Sri. Pravin Sitaram in Mridangam and Smt. Smitha Krishnan in Violin. The event culminated with Bharatanatyam performance by Smt. Sapna Krishnan and her students from Lasya School of Dance.

Youth Group of Indian Association of New Hampshire (IANH) conducted a fundraising evening of dance “Nach Night” featuring DJ Hevin. IANH youth group is a non-profit community service group run by high school students based in New Hampshire. Each year, they host cultural events which allow kids in the community to cultivate and showcase talents in dance and music. As a youth group, helping other local organization is equally important; each year, they raise money and items to support the local and other non-profit charities. Gaanavaaridhi School of Music, lead by vocalist / carnatic music teacher Smt. Bhuvana Ganesh in Shrewsbury, MA conducted its annual day carnatic music function as a fundraising concert for Cancer.

More than 60 students of all levels – beginners to advanced – presented various krithis. Groups of young kids came on stage one after the other and performed 2 or 3 songs each without any interruption. The event had been appropriately named – Naadhaamrutham – Music (Naadham) as a means to wellbeing; music as a medicine (Amrutham) for keeping oneself healthy. True to this spirit, Gaanavaaridhi students rendered nearly 4 hours of continuous “Amrutha Dhare”! It was a fulfulling musical evening.
